"Architecture you don’t have to be an architect to understand"

At Motion Assembly, we bring architecture to life and make design easier to understand. Traditional 2D drawings can often be difficult to visualise, especially for those embarking on their first project. By combining architectural design with real-time visualisation and animation, we help clients clearly see and experience their projects before they are built. From planning drawings and concept design to cinematic architectural films, our work transforms ideas into clear, compelling visual experiences.

Our Services

What we do

01

Architecture

Building your dream home or extension can feel daunting, whatever the scale of the project. We offer a free initial consultation to explore what’s possible and what might work best for you. Whether you’re looking to submit a planning application, test ideas, or need full support from concept through to completion, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

02

Surveying

Gain complete and accurate insights into your property with our comprehensive measured building surveys. We produce detailed floor plans, elevations, and sections to support confident, informed decision-making from the outset. All drawings are prepared by a RIBA Chartered Architect and can be developed into 3D models, helping you better understand and visualise your project from the very beginning.

03

Immersive Visualisation

Experience your project before it’s built through real-time visualisation and animation. We create immersive 3D environments that allow you to walk through your space, understand scale, light, and materials, and make confident decisions before construction begins.

Our Process

How we work

01

Free Consultation & Feasibility

Unsure if extending is the right move? We offer a free consultation to talk through your ideas, explore what’s possible, and help you decide on the best direction for your home.

02

Initial Design

We work with you to develop your ideas into clear, considered design proposals. At this stage, we explore layouts, form, and spatial possibilities, supported by 3D models and early visualisations.

Planning drawings and 3D views
03

Planning

Once a direction is agreed, we prepare and submit planning drawings tailored to your local authority requirements. Alongside this, we can provide clear 3D views or visuals to help communicate the proposal more effectively, both for you and for the planning process.

04

Detailed Design & Building Regulations

Following planning approval, we develop the design in detail. This includes technical drawings and specifications required for building regulations. We can also refine your 3D model, ensuring the design is fully resolved and clearly understood before construction begins.

05

Tender & Contractor Selection

We help you find the right builder for your project. By preparing a clear tender package alongside supporting visuals, we ensure contractors fully understand the scope of work. This helps improve accuracy in pricing and reduces uncertainty during construction.

06

Project Management

We stay involved throughout construction to help ensure everything runs smoothly. From coordinating with contractors to monitoring progress on site, we help maintain quality and keep your project on track, while referring back to visualisations to ensure the built result aligns with the original design intent.

Glasgow, Scotland

Our client approached us looking to extend their home within a limited budget and tight constraints. With an existing ground floor extension already in place, the design needed to coordinate seamlessly with the structure while introducing a lightweight, space-efficient solution above.

Working closely with the client, we developed a completely bespoke proposal tailored to their lifestyle, creating a practical, well-connected space for both them and their two dogs.
